I travelled back in time yesterday, wandering in a garden I used to know so well. Although things have changed, some things remain the same. The bottle brushes are magnificent, even larger than i remember them to be. I take some back to the city as a way of bottling the memories of my sister planting the tree years ago followed by my mother tending the tree with buckets and buckets of water through the many droughts that have visited Kurrajong.
And in this moment i am playing with Time, with Space and Relationship, the three elements that I endeavour to embrace in my writing…I think the most enjoyable reading for me is when the writer takes liberty with time, and creates a space/place just that little bit different to our present world.
On 22nd June at Playlab i will be facilitating a writing workshop called “Writing your way Home” where we will explore various versions of Time/Space/Relationship.
